How it works
Full-year statutory entitlement = the lower of 5.6 × days worked each week or 28 days. Partial-year estimate is pro rated by months.
A worked example
Working 4 days a week for a full leave year gives 22.4 days of statutory holiday.
What to keep in mind
For regular weekly days only. This is a planning estimate; part-month dates, irregular-hours and part-year workers, shifts of different lengths, contractual leave, bank holidays and employer rounding can require a different calculation.
A common question
Can bank holidays be included in this entitlement?
Yes. An employer can count bank holidays as part of statutory annual leave if the employment terms say so.
